Russia - An almost lawless country ruled by the FSB, dread successor to the KGB, criminal gangs and Pamyat, fanatical Russian Nationalists. Organizations who will commit any crime, murder any civilian, even commit genocide, to further their cause. When a package of sensitive information is stolen in a well organized robbery in Manhattan, it is soon tracked to the despotic hellhole that no sane person would want to navigate. Yet if the contents are made public, an entire nation will be ruined. Only one group of men can be trusted to carry out the task and retrieve that package; John Raider and his former SEAL buddies.
Unwilling to take on the job, Raider finds he has no choice when his family becomes threatened. He must enter the vast sub-continent, where their lives will be on the line the moment they step across the border, what used to be termed the Iron Curtain. Raider's men find themselves embroiled in the politics and struggles of a country at war with itself. The police are criminals, and the criminals compete to carry out even greater atrocities, where human life is often measured against the value of a pack of cigarettes.
This is a thrilling and bloody story of former US Navy SEALs, trained to go to any lengths to complete their mission. Raider Black Ops The Russia Strike is by the bestselling author of many other Spec Ops stories. These include the popular SEAL Team Bravo titles, as well as the Echo Six and Devil's Guard series.
Raider Black Ops The Russia Strike edition by Eric Meyer Literature Fiction eBooks
True to Meyer's track record, this is an extremely exciting novel. But IT'S A BITCH TO READ. The plot is far more convoluted than we're used to seeing from Meyer, as Raider and his team pursue some earthshaking documents and, primarily, his kidnapped daughter Abigail. IT'S HARD TO TELL WHO'S ON WHAT SIDE: Putin, Malenkov, other factions within the Russian Federation, Pamyat, the Malitia or FSB, the Mafiya with former Spetsnaz like Rasputin, Alexander Dragan and his Ukrainian connections, Svoboda, Chechens, other Muslims, the CIA, Americans Hamm et al., and even Raider's buddy Joe Nguyen himself. Sheesh!!
Adding greatly to this confusion, the book is riddled with abominable editorial mistakes on just about every page. In particular, MEYER'S PRONOUNS ARE ALMOST ALL WITHOUT ANTECEDENTS (e.g., multitudinous "he"s without knowing who "he" is). And, especially in the early going, there are far too many named characters to keep up with.
However, the continuous excitement from start to finish (and Raider's hot model friend Angelina) just barely surpass these gaffes, and I must give it 3 stars. And I wouldn't tell you the ending, even if there were one.

Raider Black Ops The Russia Strike edition by Eric Meyer Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
As with all Meyers books, he needs to have someone proofread his books before publishing. It seems to be his standard as an author. You would think he would be ashamed as an author. Why hasn't the publisher read these books and found the errors before publishing the books? Shame on both of you. Unprofessional at best.
ERIC MEYER Rocks. I have bought so many of his boots in the last few months that deal with Spec Ops teams and love them all. Keep writing them and I will keep buying them.
The only thing I would ask for different is a glossary of what to read in what order.
Lots of action. Even though this book is fiction the same type of men in real life risk their lives everyday to keep the world free. I also enjoy the references to facts that are true. If you like rough and tough then these novels are for you. Men and women who like action this is series for you.
The action in Russia, Israel, Mexico, Ukraine, VietNam, and the USA interests me. The detailed descriptions of weapons do not interest me. The characters rely on a simple theme - kill or be killed. Some of the coincidences that tie together events seem too contrived. Some of the dialogue seems out of place, e.g. a Russian woman native to the frontier of Russia near Finland speaks colloquial, southwest American English. Oh well.
I was looking for a book full of adrenaline when I came across this book. I wasn’t disappointed. The story is dealing with current day situations as the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, stretching at the edges of reality. A choice one could find risky, but it sounds believable. There are weapons and arms, lots of explosions, beautiful women, brave men, museums -that's right, museums - and an innocent child who needs to be saved. The action starts on the first page and doesn't let up till the last. It's a great read and I won't spoil it by saying anything too revealing. As for the ending I found it satisfying, with the author winking at a new installment.
I generally stays away from the military, guns, violence, and fighting books, but I decided to give this book a chance. All in all it was a very good book, well written, with great character development. As a person who has followed world news since I was a little girl sitting in my dad's lap watching the evening news I was pleasantly surprised to find that this book is following the conflict between Russia and the Ukraine. I love that it is speaking to what's happening NOW instead of something that happened long ago, or far in the future. This book is as much about understanding just how volatile the situation in the Ukraine is as it is about telling a story that includes action and mystery with elite Navy Seal precision. With the ending of each page I was eagerly swiping my to the next page, impatient to keep going and craving more, more, more. The reader becomes entangled with the characters and I found myself holding my breath on many occasions in fear of what could happen, or what was happening. Excellent story, I'm glad I was open to reading a new genre!
Another good read from Meyer.
This one starts Al Miller and his buddy Waite. Both are retired SEAL's. The guys are in the middle of a storm in the North Atlantic. Of course they survive. They also move to help John Raider recover his kidnapped daughter who's in Russia.
Seems Raiders ex was given a beautiful box that was from the time of Tzar Nicolas II. The box contained some damning info on the current leader of Russia. Vladimir Putin. The box was stolen from Malaya's house. No one was hurt during the theft but then Raider daugher Abigail was kidnapped.
Raider is currently working as a bodyguard for an idiot of a Hollywood producer. They are on their way to Las Vegas when they are attacked by cartel thugs. Seems the producer owes Cuerva, the leader of the cartel, a load of money which he's not paying back. Not a good idea when dealing with a drug lord.
So begins another pretty damned good read by Meyer.
This one has Raider, Al, Waite, John Ngyun, Putin, Ukrainian seperatists, the Putin file, a trip to Russia, the CIA, the billionaire Dragan, a kidnapped Abigail, Putins head of security Malenkov, a fortress they need to breach, a young Russian lady vet, death, destruction, a drug lord, a Vann who's involved in more ways than anyone knows, Raiders girlfriend Angelina Blas who Raider is beginning to have questions about, the CIA and John Raider and his team once again in a fight for their lives in a effort to find Abigail.
Five Stars and then some
